Project Overview
Reed High School is undergoing a $99.5M modernization of its 1974-era campus — 70,000 SF of new construction plus 90,000 SF of renovations. The scope includes a new 11-classroom wing, music and band expansion, athletic and JROTC facilities, a student hub with collaboration spaces, media center, redesigned administration with single-point secure entry, synthetic athletic fields, courtyard redesign, and comprehensive security upgrades.
Construction is phased to maintain school operations throughout, with completion targeted for Summer 2027. The structural work spans both new steel-framed additions tied into existing concrete and masonry structures, requiring careful coordination at every connection point.
Paul Waite served as senior design engineer on this project. Palisade Engineering provided construction administration — structural observation, RFI response, shop drawing review, and field coordination during phased construction.
